Vacuum forming is a manufacturing process used to create hollow shapes and components from plastic sheets. The sheet is heated until soft and pliable, placed over tooling, and then shaped as a vacuum is applied underneath — drawing it tightly to the mould as the air is removed.
At Plastic Mouldings, we produce vacuum-formed products using a wide range of materials, including Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG), and Polycarbonate (PC).
In 2023, we invested in CNC finishing for our vacuum forming division, enabling precise surface finishing of moulds. This investment ensures high-quality, consistent vacuum-formed parts with accurate dimensions and excellent surface finishes.
By integrating CNC finishing with vacuum forming, we have enhanced the precision, flexibility, and efficiency of the process — allowing us to serve a broad range of industries, including aerospace, electronics, electrical, automotive, vehicle conversion, medical, display, and general engineering.
