Recycling at Plastic Mouldings

The Guardian reported earlier in the week that only a third of household plastic waste is getting recycled. And many recycling groups have said that this is done to consumer uncertainty. Plastic is an incredibly diverse material which can be used to create a variety of products, some even high-end products. Iain Ferguson, the environmental manager at Co-Op has said that it is time for people to stop seeing plastic as a waste product and see it as a resource and we couldn’t agree more. As we said, plastic can be recycled into so much more than just another bottle. PET plastic (normally seen in plastic bottles) can be used to make clothing, carpets and upholstery. Whereas HDPE (which is a much sturdier plastic) can be recycled into roadside kerbs, patio furniture and even recycling bins!

At Plastic Mouldings we make a lot of High-Density Polyethylene products, which is the HDPE plastic that can be recycled to help the environment in more ways than one. And we recycle it too!
